Made from

The cover is bound in sari’s sourced from Varanasi, one of the most religious cities in the World and a centre of excellence for sari making. The sari's are made from man made fibres, as we are uncomfortable with the methods used to produce silk.

Expertly crafted using both contemporary and traditional methods, each one is bound by hand and ready to withstand any knocks and bumps on their journeys with you. The sari material comes from Varanasi, one of the most religious cities in the world and a centre of excellence for sari making.

The paper used in all our journals is 'khadda' paper. Made by charity in rural Rajasthan that promotes women’s education and their social standing in the rural villages, khadda paper is made from recycled cotton that has been left over from the massive garment industry in India. The paper doesn’t contain any chemicals as only unbleached cotton is used. Please note, we don't recommend using fountain pen with this type of handmade paper.

We are a fair trade company and regularly visit our suppliers to ensure the highest standards are met. We quality control all our products to ensure that you only receive the best.

We pay our suppliers 50% upfront and send money to them whenever they need it. We never send anything back or not pay for damaged goods. We use a bonus system for the staff and they can earn up to 5% of our total order value which can give them an extra month’s wages per year.
