This handcrafted wooden memory box features the fashionable shabby chic 'distressed' paint finish. It is personalised with the bride and groom's initials. A monogram is designed and 'chased' into an aluminium plaque set under a heart shaped hole in the top. Chasing is special process that literally pushes shapes into the metal creating a wonderful 3D effect.
Variations
Each memory box is shaped, distressed, painted and varnished by hand in Hertfordshire, England to achieve an antiqued 'shabby chic' finish.
The chased aluminium plaque is set under a cut-out in the lid in the shape of a heart. Chasing (not engraving) the personalisation gives a bold, pillowy effect.
Choose two letters - typically each of the couple's first initials - to be designed into an Art Deco-inspired back-to-back monogram (see example in photograph), featuring hearts and flowers. This motif is then chased into the silvery aluminium plaque in the lid.
Alternatively, choose the initials of anyone you think would love this sophisticated wooden memory box!
