The Rosebowl 2 is part of a series made at Tooting Bec Lido when I was an artist in residence there.

The painting aims to convey the nostalgia of the famous pool with its bright and uplifting colours.

The two women portrayed are swimming club members who kindly posed for me. Alongside of my more abstract paintings of swimmers I've always enjoyed painting portraits of people and wanted to incorporate specific places in my work. i used to have a studio near Tooting Bec Lido and my residency there and always took inspiration from the pool.

Dimensions

The outside frame measurement is 35 x 45cm, the painting itself measures 30 x 40cm. The face of the frame measures 8mm in width. The depth is 3cm.

The painting is oil paint on canvas which is then mounted in a wooden white box frame.
