    Product description

Our luxury, Fair Trade leather journals are covered in Indra leather and embossed with a Celtic Serpent, ideal for a snake enthusuast.

Historically, the image of the serpent traditionally symbolises rebirth, transformation, and healing, making this journal the perfect gift for someone preparing for a new beginning.

Expertly crafted using both contemporary and traditional methods, each one is bound by hand and ready to withstand any knocks and bumps on their journeys with you.

Protected with natural oils, it will soften and age beautifully. The embossed detail is created using small handmade tools, making each journal unique. The pattern around the edge of the cover might not be exactly the same as the one pictured, but it will be just as beautiful.

Each journal contains pages of handmade, unlined Khadda paper; recycled cotton that has been leftover from the massive garment industry in India. Only unbleached cotton is used, ensuring the paper is acid-free. Lightly textured and luxuriously thick, it feels beautiful to write, draw, or paint on. While it’s perfect for ball-point pens, gel pens, or watercolours, we wouldn’t recommend it for use with fountain pens.

    Variations

Due to the handmade nature of our products each one is unique, but loveliness comes as standard.

The stamps we use are only uppercase letters in one typeface, and we have these punctuation .,’!?/- and special characters @&#+=♥★ÆŒ to choose from. Unfortunately, we do not have accents, colon, or semicolon stamps.

    Made from

This journal has been handmade by a small family business in Rajasthan, India.

This handmade personalised journal contains many pages of plain non-refillable, unlined khadda paper. The pages are created from khadda paper (also known as kaddi or khaddi). This sustainable material is crafted by hand from recycled cotton, salvaged from the huge waste of the Indian garment industry. Only unbleached cotton is used, ensuring the paper is acid-free.

Stylish and unique it also makes a difference to the communities who make them, the cotton is made by a charity that promotes women's development in rural areas of Rajasthan, India.

The leather used for the cover is a by-product of the meat industry in India and is tanned using only natural dyes. Protected with natural oils, it will soften and age beautifully.

They are made in a small workshop in Rajasthan, India by skilled crafts people using a mixture of traditional and contemporary methods.
