Learning the value of money, and the importance of earning their way, whilst at the same time working out the maths involved in counting and subtracting different denominations of coins - all highly valuable skills every youngster will benefit from and enjoy.
This fab little chart, beautifully illustrated by artist Lucy Tapper, is a downloadable planner, which you can customise to suit your own family (you'll need Acrobat Reader to do this!). Help your children to understand the value of money with personalised tasks to encourage them to earn their own money by working for it!
They will also learn that money can be 'lost' by behaviour or the 'not doing' of jobs, all of which can be decided by you and/or the children themselves.
Variations
'My Family's Bank' Earning & Learning Chart features two playful piggy banks, illustrated by Lucy Tapper; one with the rules for 'earning' and one for 'losing'. At the top there is a guideline of the types of coins and their values, and at the bottom, is an area where you can input what their earnt money can buy.
