-An example of a cyanotype print

What is a cyanotype? A cyanotype is a cameraless photographic printing process that produces a cyan-blue print. Cyanotypes are one of the earliest forms of photography, discovered by Sir John Herschel in 1842. Cyanotype printing was made famous by Kent based scientist Anna Atkins in her book titled 'Photographs of British Algae: Cyanotype Impressions' in 1843.

Variations

Do these cyanotype papers expire? My advice is to use within 2-3 months of purchase as they are coated fresh. Cyanotype paper can expire due to the natural oxidisation of the chemicals applied to the surface. However you may find your papers will still react to UV light long beyond this recommendation with varying results.

How is this photography? Cyanotype is a camera-less photographic process which predates cameras. The paper is light sensitive, when objects are laid on the paper and exposed to Ultro-violet light, the paper will change colour. The steps are simple, the kit included instructions to guide you.
