Hello, I am Sarah Louise Matthews, a Nottingham/London-based Textile Surface Design graduate with a love for paper manipulation. I have a long standing fascination with paper, as some of my earliest childhood memories involve folding paper aeroplanes, origami penguins, paper snowflakes and paper doll chains.
I create paper cut decorations, stationery and artwork, exploring cutting, folding pleating, slotting, creasing and interlocking to create innovative paper surfaces. Much of my work is pattern-based, with a range of graphic geometrical and botanical designs, taking inspiration from bits of shape and pattern I see and photograph in my daily life.
My paper-crafted work is ideal for a first wedding anniversary, an event traditionally marked by the gift of paper, and my range includes a selection of pieces which can be personalised to make an extra special present for any occasion.
