Moat House Eyewear are a truly British company that designs and manufactures handmade wooden sunglasses in the UK. All glasses are made by hand using a combination of modern and traditional tooling.

Additionally, Moat House have started creating other products which can be personalised for their customers.

The founders of this company got their inspiration from the limb of a fallen oak tree in the grounds of a medieval moat house, hence the branding. The wood was too beautiful to burn so they set to task making a product which would do it justice. Since then the process has been tweaked for maximum performance and veneers are crafted together to make sunglasses which are tougher and more durable than one solid piece of wood alone.

Because they are made from wood, every pair of sunglasses is unique. They can even be personalised with a name or initials on the inside of the arm which is great as a gift or for a special occasion.

Every time you purchase a pair of sunglasses from us, an endangered tree is planted in the Rainforest of the Southern Philippines. The labour costs involved in planting each tree are paid for, so buying Moat House Eyewear products has a massive feel-good factor. All wood is sustainable and from responsibly sourced veneer mills.

Products come with an attractive cargo box and sleeve free of charge. They each come with top quality lenses which offer 100% UV protection.

This season there are five styles available, each with a choice of four wood types, giving a full product range of almost 100 variations. The styles are very much vintage inspired - Audrey Hepburn meets Buddy Holly and Elvis!
