Emily Mackey is a London based textile designer who specialises in arts and crafts style hand-weaving, as well as machine and traditional embroidery.
She uses native breed, British wools and exotics such as silk and yak hair to make simple understated designs that let the quality of the yarns speak for themselves. Alongside the weaving, she also produces a tongue and cheek line of fair trade organic cotton pillowcases using machine embroidery, featuring items that you would expect to find kept under a pillow.
Emily also creates a beautiful range of embroidered tree cushions using Yorkshire milled fabrics. These feature drawings of favourite trees that she has encountered on her travels.
