Mara ® grew out of the founders' shared passion for Scotland's natural larder and its forgotten tastes and traditions.
Our seaweeds are harvested by us, seasonally from the wild, pure waters of Scotland, they are dried naturally to capture their unique tastes, colours and nutritional goodness. We harvest under Crown Estate license in Scotland, and have developed environmentally sustainable harvesting criteria, in conjunction with Scottish Natural Heritage.
Mara seaweed is milled to use as a versatile seasoning, natural flavour enhancer and a healthy salt alternative. The health benefits are astounding. Seaweed is the superfood of the sea! It is the most highly mineralised vegetable on earth, containing essential minerals such as: vitamins A,B,C,E, anti-oxidants, Omega 3, iodine, iron, magnesium and potassium.
