Beautiful designs for your home, made with love and care in ours!
I’m Pragya, an architect, designer, and now the creative force behind Hedge and Hog Prints. After working in academia for several years, I was called to create something caring, as well as socially and environmentally aware; whilst adding a little whimsy and fun to our lives!
While my eldest was growing up, we loved creating little storybooks. We both used to come up with stories and sketches. Honestly we had such a laugh because they used to be the silliest stories ever, for instance this one about a little pig that was stuck in a hedge and was rescued by a hedgehog. So, this name represented all that was important to me in this brand- all about families, and rituals and traditions, creating and making things together, having a laugh, and quirky humour in everyday mundane things, so integral to our lives, and to my brand. The logo brings together the almost masculine, classical design elements inspired by my architectural training, and the lovely soft pastel shades of pink and teal, my favourite colours, that give a feminine outlook. Really a bundle of contradictions that the brand is all about too, highlighting significant serious issues and tackling creativity in communities but in a quirky, light-hearted fun way to raise a smile and a 'bubble bath' (a laugh!). So, we are all about traditional techniques of printmaking and modern contemporary designs, women's rights and British slangs all wrapped together under the umbrella of integrity, quality and reliability!
From my home studio by the sea in north-west England, I create limited edition linocut prints, greetings cards and stationery to charm you and your family. Each design is original and starts off as a handmade sketch. I am passionate about the environment which reflects in the materials that I use for creating and packaging, using recycled and eco products where possible. My designs reflect the society and the place that we are each rooted in, and nurtures, creates and reinforces the emotional connection that we have with out environment and with each other.
