Coloured Trim Woven Bread Basket

The plaiting technique, used since Gone Rural's inception, is used to create some our most popular pieces. It involves using a dyed fibre, such as lutindzi, which is braided into long strands. These plaits are then woven, coiled, shaped, and sewn together to create beautiful products such as our bread baskets.

Lutindzi - is sourced directly from the mountains of eSwatini. It is sustainably harvested by cutting above the root and is proven to be waterproof and stain-resistant due to its strong, waxy finish.

All our materials are dye using environmentally friendly German dyes imported from South Africa

Easy to clean with a damp cloth or brush with a tooth brush

Available in two sizes 18cm & 25cm diameter and the following colour trims; white, mustard, bordeaux, blush, grey or indigo.
