A gorgeous fine art print of the Cornish Coast.
This lovely hand printed linocut print is of a beautiful little village just over the border from Devon into Cornwall. The cottages of Cawsand nestle into the woody hillside as the boats potter around in the bay below. It would make a lovely picture for a coastal home or as a present for anyone who loves the sea.
Available professionally framed in 1" solid natural oak or unframed, in an acid free pale cream mount.
The print is hand-pulled using an antique cast iron press. It is made using 5 lino blocks printed onto archival paper using oil based printmaking inks. It is an edition of 50 and each one is signed and numbered by Fiona.
Linocuts are a form of printmaking developed in the early 20th century when artists such as Picasso experimented with the technique. Fiona loves working in this medium and uses it to create nostalgic prints of the British coast. Inspired by old railway posters and artists such as Kyffin Williams, she hand cuts and prints each picture at her studio near the beautiful Rutland Water.
