We make this solig gold plectrum by hand, from 9ct gold, the gold is tested for purity at Birmingham’s Assay Office, the mark of recognition is applied using punches, by hand, to the plectrum and all this is to ensure it is recognised as being 9ct gold, that is to say for every 1000 parts, 375 parts are pure gold.

The Birmingham Assay Office Board of Guardians meet twice yearly to guide and recommend best practice and act as the catalyst for new ideas and future direction of the Birmingham Assay Office as well as to look over the previous activities to ensure best practice is being followed.
