Achieving balance and harmony is a way of life in Bali, creating beauty and simplicity is the essence of living
Awani Bali started life in 2007 and was created by a Malaysian engineer, Yip, and a former broadcaster from the UK, Heather, who wanted to bring together the exotic and fragrant deliciousness of tropical fruit with the artisan tradition of making conserves and preserves.
Inspired by the beauty and artistic heritage of Bali, not to mention the abundance of the best tropical fruit in the world from the fertile, volcanic soil of Indonesia, we left the corporate world and found an idyllic spot to build our artisan kitchen in the volcanic highlands of Bali, not far from the fertile farmland of Bedugul and west of the royal city of Ubud.
Our amazing team in the Awani kitchen works with the freshest, ripest tropical fruit from the Indonesian archipelago to create our award winning conserves and marmalades.
The provenance of our fruit is very important and we work closely with farmers both from family small-holdings and fruit farms in Bali, Java and other Indonesian islands to source top quality fruit.
The artistry of the Balinese is deep rooted and enchanting. We love the beauty, craftsmanship and attention to detail of traditional crafts like batik printing, basketry and wood-carving.
As the island moves towards mass tourism, we do not want to see this tradition disappear. We work with local craftspeople to showcase their exquisite work in our packaging. This ensures that their precious skills, honed over generations, can provide them with a livelihood and that their work will continue to be relevant in our modern, globalised world.
Winner of Great Taste and Dalemain World Marmalade Awards and preserving Balinese traditions with love and care
Our Balinese team is proud to have won awards in the UK for our tropical fruit flavours. These include a coveted Gold Dalemain World Marmalade Award for our lime ginger marmalade and becoming a Great Taste Producer after winning 9 Great Taste Awards.
We love introducing the real flavours of tropical fruit to our international customers to enjoy. Pink guava or mango are divine on a flaky croissant for a breakfast in paradise, strawberry kaffir lime makes an intriguing Victoria sponge cake with a twist, or treat your cheese plate to elegant pairings with tamarillo or lime ginger. .
