Lovingly restored by award winning ceramicist Mike Moran, Arch 229 is a studio/shop right on Brighton beach, just by the pier! Once a fisherman’s workshop, Mike’s pint-sized pottery is at the heart of the Artist's Quarter.
No two gifts are exactly the same because Mike hand makes each piece with love and care. Contemporary but classic, his designs are packed with character and often have a vintage feel. Sir Terence Conran describes his microvases, designed to take daisies and other tiny flowers, as ‘delightful’. Other favourites include stylish vintage vessels, charming vases, quirky quail’s egg cups and the ever-popular Cold Comfort Farm Milk Bottle. They’re all handmade using renewable energy. As featured in the Times, Guardian and Grand Designs magazine.
Mike won the New Designer Award after graduating from the University of Brighton but he does like to be beside the seaside, his studio has the best view! You’ll find a selection of Mike’s favourite work here, and a unique handmade gift that’s guaranteed to please.
