Terms and Conditions

Our office hours are Monday – Friday 9 am – 5 pm, any special requests or questions will need to be made during these hours and allow for 1 working day response time. The Avenue Cookery School will take no responsibility for any questions/requests that are sent outside of these hours.

We hold the right to run more than one class/course at any time. Each class/course will have its own islands and respective chefs.

Existing bookings will not be able to take advantage of any newly reduced/sale prices for the class already booked.

Package classes are non-transferable to another class and are valid for one individual. If you choose to transfer your package to another class, the credit transferred will only be for the amount originally paid, minus any classes already used from the package, charged at full price.

To offer the best experience possible in the allocated time, all our ingredients will be pre-weighed and, in some instances, due to time restraints, parts of the menu will be prepared ahead of the class by the chefs.

All our menus are carefully tested and chosen for each class. Where possible we will cater to dietary requirements however, in some cases alternatives may not be provided.

The Avenue, under no circumstances, are held liable for glitches, bugs, errors, or inaccuracies of any kind on our website and, in the event, there is an error on the price paid, you will be offered to pay the difference or to be issued a refund.

Enrolment / Booking:

Classes: To enrol on a class, full payment is payable to secure a place. If the applicant fails to pay in full, the school cannot guarantee to reserve a place.

In all classes, at the chef’s discretion, students will generally cook in pairs (or in threes for those booked as part of a bigger group) and in some cases, this may be with different ages. If requested at the time of booking that you would like to be grouped with others or to cook alone, we may be able to accommodate you, but this is subject to the size and numbers booked on to the class.

For our bottomless booze classes, we have a minimum age of 18 unless accompanied by a paying adult. Please check directly with us before booking.

In all courses, students will generally cook in pairs and in some cases, this may be with different ages.

Prices quoted are for the number of given participants, should these numbers decrease, prices are subject to increase.

We hold the right to amend our prices at any given time before payment has been made.

Payments are non-refundable and are only transferrable up to 2 month’s before the event/hire date.

We do not have the capacity or insurance to cover additional unpaid people to join classes. Everyone present will need to be booked and paid for.

Kids

We have a recommended minimum age of 8 years old in our kitchen as we feel this is a suitable average age where children can understand the dangers of being in a kitchen without 1:1 supervision. If you feel your child is not responsible enough to be in a busy kitchen environment and the hazards that come with it, please do not sign your child up for our classes as we cannot be held responsible for accidents or injuries from a lack of understanding. If in doubt, please get in touch with us directly.

If your child is younger than 8 and you feel they are confident in a kitchen environment without 1:1 supervision you can decide to book them onto a class, despite our recommended minimum age.

All bookings are made under the responsibility of the parent/guardian.

Please note, no matter the age of your child, should they cause disruption, or should we feel they pose a safety hazard to themselves or others, we will ask you to collect them early and a refund will not be issued.

We do not have the capacity or insurance to cover additional unpaid people to be in our kitchen. Everyone present will need to be booked and their spot paid for. This includes any parents or guardians during our kids’ classes.

Cancellations/Transfers:

We have a strict cancellation policy; all payments are non-refundable but transferable as per the below time restrictions. Any bookings cancelled outside of these restrictions full payment will be forfeited.

Classes: If you wish to transfer your class to an alternate date, this must be done at least 2-weeks before the class date.

The Avenue are not liable for missed classes due to circumstances including weather, travel, illness, or any other situations that occur out of our control. If you are unable to attend for whatever reason and you have missed the cancellation timeline, you are free to gift or resell your ticket.

Should you choose to use our transfer policy within the policy restrictions, your booking will be transferred to a non-refundable credit and will be valid for 1 year from the first payment date.

If you bought a class/course/voucher on sale, at a discount or a cheaper rate than the current price, the amount paid will be credited only and the full cost of the new class booking will be due.

In the event The Avenue needs to cancel a class, we will notify you by email with 1 working week’s notice for classes and 2-weeks for 1&2-week courses. You will then have a 1-year credit from the date of the cancelled class and for the value of that cancelled class, but if this option does not suit you, we can issue a full refund back to the original payment method*.

Students already booked will be notified of any changes to times or dates as soon as it is known. Should the amendments not be suitable you will be given the option to transfer to another date or issued a refund back to the original
