My fabulous quality cowhide leather belt has a perfect buckle covered in thick silver-plating. It is the extra special gift for birthdays and Christmas.
The belt is perfect for jeans and casual wear. The superb leather gives very many years of wear (my customers frequently tell me I make them too well). I hand make every belt to order, from selecting the hide from which the belt is cut, to polishing the edges by hand.
This excellent belt is made from 35mm wide vegetable tanned cowhide. It is the same style of leather as the leather used for saddlery. Unlike saddlery-hide it has a firm finish with a unique suppleness. This is because I source my leather from a tannery in Italy who tans the leather to my specification. There is no risk of the leather cracking or breaking.
The belt is currently available in coffee colour or black. Please ask if you are looking for other colours.
The beauty of good quality vegetable tanned hide is that it gets nicer the more you use it. For example, the Italian leather is nice and supple to begin with making it an instantly comfortable belt to wear. It shapes itself to your body as you wear it and polishes and patinates with age.
The belt is fitted with a fabulous quality silver-plated buckle that will patinate to an antique look as it is worn.
To size accurately, please take a look at the illustration. Measure a favorite belt from where the leather folds through the buckle to the hole used the most. I recommend a minimum of 17.5cms (7 inch) overlap.
I stamp seven holes, three either side of the main hole. Shorter belts I recommend five holes. The holes are spaced 2.5cm (1 inch) apart. I am happy to stamp holes in a different format to customers requirements, please ask.
