Tugboat Steampunk

Welcome to Tugboat Steampunk by Wilson and Wood of Stortford.

We are a small business specialising in the design and manufacture of handmade lighting inspired by Industrial and Steampunk styles.

Our story is simple. We are two friends who spent a great deal of time talking about our passions for making things over cups of lukewarm coffee on the side-lines of muddy rugby pitches watching our sons play rugby on Sunday mornings.

It eventually dawned on us that it was time to stop talking about it and actually make some of this wonderful stuff and share it with the world.

We make our lights in a converted cow barn, deep in rural Essex. We really love what we do and both get a great deal of satisfaction from designing and making.

We work with a range of materials including Copper, Brass, Steel and Plumbing Components. All of the electrical parts used are CE approved and are from UK manufacturers.

We methodically test every lamp before it leaves our workshop to ensure it meets our high quality standards.

We are constantly thinking about new and unusual designs and are most open to your suggestions and commissions.
