Priya Velusami is from South West London and founder of Pri Pri.

The business was inspired by Priya's grandmother who would visit her from India during summer holidays. She taught her to sew and also first introduced her to the zero waste concept. Every scrap of fabric would be put to use, with everything being repurposed and reused where possible.

These early memories sparked Priya's passion for colour, textiles, and sustainable style. She now runs a business designing accessories and kidswear upcycled from pre-loved Indian saris. The business also partners with a women’s empowerment charity in Mumbai, India, also the hometown of Priya’s grandmother. The charity trains underprivileged women who have often had little or no education in tailoring, upskilling them, and enabling them to gain employment at the end of their training.

Priya is passionate about creating a business that helps other women and also encourages conversations about the circular economy, demonstrating how we can create beauty from existing resources.
