Melíanthos comes from Greek méli [honey] and anthós [flower]. It is a boutique award-winning microbakery founded by self-taught baker Argiris that specialises in pastries and confections inspired by his Greek gastronomic heritage.
With Melíanthos, we aim to offer you not just an authentic taste of Greece, but a memorable experience as we bring together top-quality ingredients with a combination of traditional and modern techniques.
Originally from a large city, Argiris has been lucky to have spent most of his Christmas, Easter and summer holidays at his mountain village, just 15 minutes off the Corinthian Gulf.
This exposed him to delicious food made from fresh, natural ingredients and recipes passed on through generations. Whether the food came from his mother, grandmother or aunts, his palate was always thankful. Thanks to them, he developed great taste and learnt to appreciate handmade meals!
Growing up, he cultivated a passion for technology and computers, in particular, devoting 20 years of his life to building digital products and IT companies. As years passed, he found himself hanging out in the kitchen more and more, cooking and baking delicacies to enjoy with his family and friends.
Their praises pushed him to delve deeper, looking to absorb as much information as possible and experiment until the outcome would surprise and delight those who tasted it.
