I create contemporary stoneware pottery with bold slipware, abstract forms, and traditional techniques—where function meets expressive, painterly surfaces.
I’m a stoneware potter drawn to the beauty of everyday moments—shared meals, coffee with a friend, quiet time alone. I make functional forms like mugs, jugs, and bowls, but treat each as a canvas for painterly, abstract decoration. I use slips and underglaze in layered black and white motifs, building depth and texture through brushing and wax resist. I throw traditional forms, then squash, distort, and complete them with hand-built elements. I love working wet-on-wet, adding handles and sprigs while the clay is still soft and responsive. My pieces are tactile, warm, and expressive—designed to be used, gifted, and lived with. I believe pots carry memory: the comfort of a favourite mug, a plate that feels like home. My work is rooted in family and togetherness. It’s about elevating the everyday, creating beauty in small rituals, and offering something lasting and heartfelt. Whether it’s a gift or for daily use, I hope each piece brings joy, warmth, and connection.
I live in Cambridge, UK, a city whose quiet charm and creative energy continue to inspire my work. I make my pots in a communal studio, surrounded by a supportive community of makers. Sharing space with other ceramicists has shaped my practice—it’s a place of exchange, encouragement, and constant learning. I’ve been working with clay for five years now, and in that time, it’s become not just a craft but a way of thinking and living. Every piece I make is the result of curiosity, experimentation, and a deep love for the process.
