John, who married Karen in 2018, has always had a fascination for metals and woods. He says his best gift ever was the carpentry set he was given by his mother when he was seven-years-old. Working with good old fashioned materials like wood became a passion. As he got older, John combined his expertise in welding and his love of wood to create unique items, all of which have a purpose, whether that is a garden bench, drinks cabinet, storage box, stool or log holder. Karen shares Johns passion for good quality handmade furniture and works behind the scene with some of the desgin detail.
We want our furniture to replicate the hard working Victorian times when solid wood and steel were used...... in otherwise a plastic free period of time. A lot of love goes in to each creation and we hope each piece will be passed down through generations as they are made to last a lifetime.

Early in 2021, John was featured as one of eleven 'remakers' on the BBC Two show Saved and Remade. The show brought together the multiple skills of a team of expert craftpeople to help solve viewers' conumdrums of what to do with treasured but purposeless items. John thoroughly enjoyed being part of the show as sustainability is a passion of his. John loves nothing more than going to the local sawmill to hand pick the best pieces of sustainably sourced wood; Yew, Oak and Larch being some of his favourites to work with. Back in the workshop John crafts statement pieces from a combination of solid wood and steel. His innovative designs bring out an intricate detail or in contrast an industrial modern style. Each piece is crafted with you, the customer in mind to inspire the right vibe for your home.
