Artforge is the business created by Simon Walker, who trained as a goldsmiths apprentice for over 5 years. At the end of the apprenticeship, he made an apprentice piece – a silver model of a car which was submitted to Goldsmiths Hall in London.
After becoming a member of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths, he worked for various jewellers, but now makes his own style of jewellery, sometimes teaching jewellery making, and participates at shows in Great Britain and abroad.
Creative work needs time, skill and determination, qualities which Simon, who has been trading as Artforge for over 10 years, has a fair amount of, but by his own admission is always seeking to improve.
Simon was taught silversmithing, diamond mounting, setting , enamelling, which He uses in his desire to make unusual pieces that will thrill, be loved and cherished.
Simon works in his studio workshop, on a farm, next to Waverley Abbey Ruins in Farnham. Coincidentally it happens to be where he met his now wife some years ago on a blind date – horse riding!
You are invited to join the journey of Simon and Artforge as he strives to produce unusual and exquisite items of jewellery!
