Welcome to Clai-Clay

Hand-thrown ceramics

I have a bit of a magpie eye when it comes to ceramics and have always loved collecting different shapes, sizes and colours.

I started my journey in pottery around 25 years ago, hand-building and experimenting with life-sculpture. Recently I've returned to the studio and am now working on hand-throwing a range of functional, contemporary vessels with personality to add those all-important finishing touches to your home.

I'm based in South Wales and make all my pieces in my home studio. Shop my ever-changing range of pottery, from vases to mugs, and bowls to beakers.

Clai-Clay Ceramics

All pieces are made by me in my garden studio

I love spending time in my studio, sometimes listening to podcasts, other times, just listening to the birds with the doors wide open.

Ceramics is a slow craft, nothing can be rushed and I adore that, a chance to let the clay dictate your pace. On the whole, the process of completing a piece can take around 6 weeks, from throwing, trimming, glazing to firing.

I generally make my pots on a potter's wheel, sometimes though I handbuild, especially in-between big projects which is a lovely way to re-set myself.

My time is spent making crockery for the hospitality industry, corporate gifts and when I have time making small batches of functional ware to fill my online shop.

If for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase we will provide a full refund for the purchase price of unused items within 14 days of delivery on return of the item.

Please return items in their original packaging.

You must cover the cost of returning the item unless faulty or damaged.
