    Product description

Our luxury, Fair Trade leather journals are covered in beautiful Indra leather and embossed with the Buddha.

Handmade, eco-friendly and Fair Trade, this stunning journal also makes a difference to the communities who make them. The cotton paper is made by a charity that promotes women's development in rural areas of Rajasthan, India.

The term Buddha means enlightened one and represents wisdom, making this journal a great companion for teachers, a spiritual person or a loved one gaining new knowledge.

Each journal contains pages of unlined khadda paper; khadda is recycled cotton that has been left over from the massive garment industry in India.

Due to the handmade nature of these products, colour and designs may slightly vary, but loveliness comes as standard.

    Made from

All the products in this range are handmade by a small family business in Rajasthan, India.

We are fortunate enough to visit them every year, having worked with them for many years following Fair Trade guidelines.

Natural leather journal with recycled unbleached cotton paper pages made from left over rags from the massive garment industry in India.

They are made in a small workshop in Rajasthan, India by skilled crafts people using a mixture of traditional and contemporary methods.

The pages are created from khadda paper (also known as kaddi or khaddi). This sustainable material is crafted by hand from recycled cotton, salvaged from the huge waste of the Indian garment industry. Only unbleached cotton is used, ensuring the paper is acid-free. Lightly textured and luxuriously thick, it feels beautiful to write, draw, or paint on. While it’s perfect for ball-point pens, gel pens, or watercolours, we wouldn’t recommend it for use with fountain pens.
