Although the bangle was charming, I was extremely disappointed that it was not hallmarked, despite being described as sterling silver - it was simply stamped 925, which I understand indicates that it was imported. If it really was sterling silver , and given that it is a piece of jewellery which one hopes will eventually be passed on to future generations, it should be hallmarked; the bangle was not cheap, and hallmarking costs pence at the assay office.
