A completely different approach to gin
This is the fourth batch of Professor Cornelius Ampleforth's wonderful Cask-Aged Gin. It was made by taking tiny "octave" casks (roughly a fifth of the capacity of standard hogsheads), and filling them with the legendary small-batch Bathtub Gin. The spirit was left to age for six months.
Thanks to the comparatively large amount of surface-to-spirit contact from the small casks, the gin gained all kinds of complexity and flavour during these six months.
The result is a spicy, intense gin, packaged with brown paper, string and wax.
