We are Wool Couture, a Yorkshire-based company founded in 2016 by Claire and Ali Gelder. We specialise in crochet, knitting, weaving, macramé, needle felting, and embroidery kits designed to help anyone discover a new craft and create something they can be proud of.

Our bestselling 'Learn To' kits provide everything makers need to begin their creative journey, including quality yarns, tools, step-by-step instructions, and a range of patterns to follow. To make learning even easier, many of our kits include access to free online video tutorials, allowing customers to build confidence and learn the basics of their chosen craft at their own pace.

Alongside our craft kits, we offer a carefully selected range of premium yarns, tools, and accessories to support crafters at every stage of their making journey. Whether you're picking up a pair of knitting needles for the first time or expanding your creative skills, we're here to help every step of the way.

What started as a passion for handmade crafts has grown into a thriving community of makers across the UK and around the world. The creation of Wool Couture was also inspired by Claire’s personal experience of how crafting supported her mental health and wellbeing. Through crochet, knitting, and other creative crafts, she discovered the positive impact that making and creating can have on reducing stress, improving mindfulness, and enhancing overall wellbeing. We are proud to inspire thousands of customers to slow down, take time for themselves, embrace creativity, and experience the satisfaction that comes from making something with their own hands.

In 2017, our journey reached a major milestone when Claire appeared on The BBC’s Dragons' Den, securing investment from not one, but two Dragons, Tej Lalvani and Touker Suleyman. Their support helped us grow Wool Couture into the business it is today while remaining true to our mission of making traditional crafts accessible, enjoyable, and inspiring for everyone.
