A small Scottish west coast company based in The Isle of Skye, The Tartan Company blends traditional tartans and tweeds with a modern, fun and quirky slant.
Inspiration is a mere glance outside the window to this unique Highland landscape.Ever changing weather, the unique quality of the light, and the Island culture are all contributing factors to creating something a little different.
Last year we produced our own 100% Lambswool tartan, Froach's Grian.(pronounced frooks gree-han)Meaning Heather'n' sun in Gaelic, the name reflects the colours of the cloth. The purple of a remote heather clad hillside,the yellow sunshine of a warm summers day, shining down from a duck egg blue sky.
