NB: Our benches, Old English Painted and Rustic collection are intentionally designed to be rustic in design and finish. As such characteristics in the wood such as knots, nicks and splits are not filled or sanded out as they add character to the piece.

The product itself was well made. There are some small bit (e.g. a chip in the wood that was painted over and saw marks on the inside of the box) which detract slightly from the overall product quality. Main issue is with the delivery. Initially my wife was told that we would have a delivery time of our choosing. When we finally spoke to the delivery people we were given one slot on a Monday and told that if we didn't take that we would have to wait a week until the next available slot. In the end I had to take a half day off work. To add insult to injury I spoke to a very rude and unhelpful man at the Orchard (who make this product) who claimed this kind of delivery services was normal for furniture. Estimated delivery date was the 24th Oct and finally received the product on 4th Nov. Very dissapointed with the general level of service.

We are sorry that you did not receive your goods as quickly as you had hoped and understand the disappointment this has caused. We give an accurate estimated delivery time on the product page and provide an estimated dispatch date when accepting your order. Your order was dispatched within the timeframe indicated for the product, the October 24th date you refer to is an estimated dispatch date not a delivery date which we believe was clarified when you first contacted us to make an enquiry. As you confirm the delivery was made to you the following week, our delivery partners cover the vast majority of the country at least once a week and offered you the very first available slot for your area. As a small independent business we are regrettably unable to offer, daily, out of hours or weekend deliveries for furniture items as some major retailers can and the vast majority of our customers appreciate that taking receipt of a signed for delivery will require an element of time to made by the recipient. At no point would we advise of a free choice of delivery date for a furniture item as this is not something we simply cannot fulfil and regret that this was your understanding. We aim to minimise disruption to daily routines and all our furniture deliveries are booked in, via telephone, well in advance and an estimated time frame for arrival given wherever possible. The drivers do go to great lengths to accommodate requests wherever possible. We apologise greatly that you feel you enquiry was not handled as you would wish and that this affected your overall satisfaction with your purchase.
