Behind every great man (or woman) is a great book. These cufflinks are perfect for the book-lover in your life.
Each cufflink shows a snippet from a great quote. One half appears on one cufflink and the other on its twin.
The cufflinks are designed to be a window onto a book page and, as such, you will find that not all of the words of the quote are visible. It is, however, perfectly possible to work out the full quote from what can be seen with a little Holmesian deduction.
Choose from 'Sherlock Holmes', 'Tom Sawyer', 'Phileas Fogg' or 'Pride and Prejudice' or you can even choose your own favourite short quote or saying.
The full quotes:
' "Who are you, then? What do you want?" he asked in a quavering voice… "My name is Sherlock Holmes. It is my business to know what other people don't know." - From 'The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle' by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
'Work consists of whatever a body is obliged to do, and… Play consists of whatever a body is not obliged to do.' - From 'Tom Sawyer' by Mark Twain.
'Phileas Fogg had won his wager, and had made his journey around the world in eighty days… The eccentric gentleman had throughout displayed all his marvellous qualities of coolness and exactitude.' - From '80 Days Around the World' by Jules Verne.
'In vain have I struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.' - From 'Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.
