Exquisite hand-stictched white cut-work table coth appliqued on to gorgeous white organza. Pefect for family suppers or elegant dinner parties. Can also be used very effectively as a bed cover or even for romantic, gauzy curtains.
It is in the ancient village of Puri, India where the art of applique is at its strongest. The artisan prepares the organza and the chosen motifs are cut from pure white cotton and then are hand stiched on top of the organza. When you consider the amount of work involved in making these tablecloths it is not suprising to know that it takes nearly a week to complete just one.
The tablecloths wash beautifully on a gentle machine wash or can be dry cleaned.Very easy indeed to iron - an added bonus we think!
