A stylised wall map of Central London with Cycle Routes
This detailed, street-level map’s colourful graphic style and stunning print quality make it a beautiful point of reference for the home or office. The map is 1.3m x 1m in size and displays Richmond Park to the Olympics development site, (west to east) and Hampstead Heath to Dulwich (north to south). Roads are coloured to highlight signed cycling routes, quieter routes (recommended by other cyclists), greenways through parks and canals and off-carriageway alternatives to busy roads. Additional details include a basic layout for the London Olympics site and illustrations depicting selected London landmarks. Printing: This map is printed using a lithographic printing process. This works like a mechanised version of traditional screen-printing. A plate is made for each colour and then laid down individually, offering a stunning-quality print, with great definition and colour impact. We print onto the highest-quality silk-coated paper, giving a low surface shine and luxurious finish. A sealer is applied to protect the inks, while a gloss UV varnish is used in a patchwork system, to highlight authorities’ boundaries. Details: Transport routes are marked, along with stations for railway, underground and the Docklands Light Railway. Footpaths, motorways and roads (with one-way and contraflow systems) are also marked. The Central London Congestion Charging zone, land use, authorities’ boundaries, selected markets and buildings are shown, as well as five levels of cycle route, stations with cycle parking and a basic layout for the London Olympics site. Paper: The map comes as an art-quality print, ready for framing or pinning/tacking to a wall.
Plastic: We encapsulate this map in a gloss plastic, to give a durable write-on/wipe-off finish.
Magnetised: The map is encapsulated in plastic, as above, then mounted onto flexible sheet metal, to give a safe, durable, write-on/wipe-off surface to which magnets will cling. It is easily fixed to the wall using magnetic strips that run along the edges of the map. Supplied with the map are two dozen magnetic dots, and six stronger magnetic pins.
Framed: We frame our maps without glass, allowing the quality of the print to remain. The metallic inks and the gloss-varnished finish, add great surface finishes to the map which light plays off well. The maps are all printed with a sealer that protects the inks, allowing your map to be gently wiped down with a cloth.
Framed and Magnetised: Supplied with the map are two dozen magnetic dots, to mark places of interest, and six stronger magnetic pins, allowing you to use your map as a notice board. The surface has a write-on/wipe-off finish on which non-permanent or dry-wipe pens may be used.
