A world reference map for the twenty-first century

The maps combine both political and physical information, including plate tectonic boundaries and a shaded relief layer. Gone are the soft pastel hues of maps depicting the old British Empire; instead, we offer a choice of contemporary colour combinations, for different tastes and environments. The map is based upon the respected Robinson projection. This presents countries of the world as a non-bias compromise between their true shape and size. It also utilises curved meridians, giving a fantastic spherical feeling to this flat portrayal of the earth.

Colour: Colour is used to highlight a country's border lines and shape.

Printing: The map is litho-printed on to a coated, silk finish paper with special colours, including metallic blue for the seas. The print is finished with a sealer to protect the inks and a gloss UV varnish is applied to the landmasses for contrast.

Details: Detail includes a shaded relief layer, plate tectonic boundaries and direction of movement, capital and major cities, rivers, roads, airports, peaks, time zones, and north/south pole projections.

Paper Tubed: The map comes as an art-quality print, ready for framing or pinning/tacking to a wall. Colour Maps have distinctive packaging that both presents and protects.

Plastic Tubed: We encapsulate this map in a gloss plastic, to give a durable write-on/wipe-off finish. Our Colour Maps range comes complete with a clear plastic rail, which clips onto the top edge of the map for easy hanging.

Magnetised Tubed: The map is encapsulated in plastic, as above, then mounted onto flexible sheet metal, to give a safe, durable, write-on/wipe-off surface to which magnets will cling. It is easily fixed to the wall using two magnetic strips that run along the top and bottom of the map. Supplied with the map are a dozen magnetic dots, and three stronger magnetic pins.

Framed: We frame our maps without glass, allowing the quality of the print to remain. The metallic nature of the seas and the gloss-varnished landmasses, add great surface finishes to the map which light plays off well. The maps are all printed with a sealer that protects the inks, allowing your map to be gently wiped down with a cloth.

Framed & Magnetised: Supplied with the map are a dozen magnetic dots, to mark places of interest, and three stronger magnetic pins, allowing you to use your map as a notice board. The surface has a write-on/wipe-off finish on which non-permanent or dry-wipe pens may be used.
