About

Welcome aboard! I'm Victoria, the founder of The English Shipmate.

Each item is made from scratch in my studio near Bath - a labour of love. It's a privilege to create special gifts that'll last forever with a lick of polish.

After all, life is about the crew you sail with; our voyages of the heart.

If you need your item quickly, please contact us via the "Ask seller a question" button. Often the lead time is only 2 to 3 days for UK delivery.

We are delighted to have been commissioned by the RNLI and to continue to have a superb reputation for the quality of the work and our customer service.

We carefully source as many materials as possible from the British Isles. All our silver and copper comes from CooksonGold, based in Birmingham's jewellery quarter and hallmarked, where appropriate, by the Birmingham Assay Office.

Our story

For years, my other half and I sailed a friend's amazing old Yawl on blustery Solent days and fell in love with the sea. The arrival of our own little shipmate, meant a change of course.

Now it's a life of making things that matter between people; between the school run and tea with my old mum.

Thank you for coming aboard - I hope to make something from my hand to yours.

Delivery

Hello,

The English Shipmate takes great pride in our service to customers.

* All The English Shipmate's items are posted via First Class post for mainland UK orders, unless you select express, tracked services.

'BY' DATES ARE ESTIMATED

Just to say that these date shown on the product pages is actually estimated and 'by' does NOT mean the day before the date shown.

You'll notice through the reviews and customer comments that The English Shipmate's products go out in a shipshape and timely fashion.

**ORDERING AT PEEK TIMES**

To avoid disappointment, please order as soon as you can – as an artisan silversmith I can only make so many orders during the Christmas/Father's Day/ Mother's Day etc period without the help of Elves or other magical hard-working creatures.

WEATHER:

Please note that courier and postal services may be affected by inclement weather - it's hugely important to me that the items I make for you reach you in time, if there's any reason to suspect delays, I will contact you.

With best wishes,

Victoria Harwood at The English Shipmate
