SUSTAINABILITY
Here at Studio Noodles we care about people and the environment.
We decided from day one that we would print on recycled or FSC artisan papers using vegetable inks, and all our prints are packaged in biocompostable corn starch clear (plastic free) sleeves. We have been like this since day one, well before it was trendy.
Our stickers are made with paper, are printed with vegetable inks and use a water based adhesive. Even our clear stickers on our greeting cards sleeves are compostable and are plastic free. Our mailers are made from part recycled card and paper and our packaging fragile tape is made from paper and printed with vegetable inks. Where we can we hand write some of the addresses on our parcels to avoid using paper labels and where we do use labels we only use paper ones.
For our original art we use 100% cotton rag. 100% Cotton rag paper is rare. They have long fibres which gives the paper exceptional strength and durability. The cotton rag comes from T-shirt off cuts. The paper is made by hand and is acid free. Papermaking is totally dependent on water and Khadi water supply comes from their own bore well and from rainwater capture. No water is wasted. First the “virgin” water is used for white papers, then it is recycled for light, then dark colours and for crop fibre papers. No chlorine, bleaches or harmful chemicals are used in any of the cotton rag papers and the final run-off is pH neutral and has been passed for irrigation use by the Karnataka state authority. The water is also used on their organic farm.
We do not mass produce anything. We print in small batches (to avoid waste) and what we produce is artisan. Hence you won't find cheap prices. You will always find more about each product under its info section.
For every one A4 Print sold we will plant a tree with One Tree Planted.
