The black bamboo plant is not fussy, it will grow in most environments and is very hardy (it can withstand temperatures that go to -30 degrees Celsius). In the UK it will have no problem living outside! It likes a good amount of water and it will spread quickly, make sure it has enough space!

The black bamboo plant is initially green and will start to get its black colour when it is around 3 years old.
