  This was a gift that delighted. It arrived in good time and in good condition and the seller got back to me really quicky when I enquired about how they wrapped the item. They included a tissue wrap and bow at now extra cost which is great!

  Absolutely disgusted with the service. The Slate Cheese board was clearly damaged as I had it looked at by a friend who works with slate from another comapny. He said the slate was definately damaged but the comapany this cheeseboard came from would not take any resposibility and refused to give me back all postage costs. It was not fit for purpose and I would defy any one to use to put fresh food on as it was. To be honest I will never deal with them again and recommend anyone else to do the same, unless your happy to be out of pocket!!

We are sorry you were so unhappy with the service provided, and as replacement was offered and declined I'm not sure there was anything further we could have done in this instance and a refund was given. The product has since been sold locally and the customer was very happy with the product and particularly liked the uniqueness of the mica contained in the slate.   Purchased as a gift for Xmas 2011, hopefully it will be well received. Happy to see that the supplier has listened to previous feedback - the item came well packaged, with a tag on that explains what the item is and a piece of chalk. Very satisfied customer.

  The product was unfortunately damaged in the post, being rather more fragile than we thought. The Slate Company was very apologetic and could not have been more helpful, supplying a rapid replacement by special delivery at their cost as it was urgently needed for a wedding present.

  As other reviewers have mentioned there were small loose pieces of slate in the bubble wrap but no obvious chip on the heart. One of the felt pads came off when I unwrapped it but I have stuck it back on. Overall it looks nice and the gift recipient was pleased. It comes with a piece of chalk.

  I was a little disappointed with my purchase, it had a chip out of the bottom of the slate, i did not return it as you can't see the chip from the front, and it was a bit of a rigmarole to return it. Not sure i will bother to order any thing else.

  the cheeseboard was delivered to my home address instead of the bride and groom's address as requested. The other present ordered was delivered to the correct address.

  Very good item - maybe include a single stick of chaulk with the slate boards - this makes giving it as a "full" present far easier and would be no more than a few pence per item? Just a thought as I struggled to get some in time for 25th aniversary. Many thanks - it was much enjoyed

  The cheeseboard was beautiful and made a lovley gift. Disappointed though that there was no note or label with the item to explain what it was. This is the second time that we purchsed this item as a gift, and both times we have had to explain what the item was. I thought from the description that a piece of chalk would have been provided too, Still happy with my purchase though :)

  The packaging was very poor, the point on the heart was exposed, and the slate had been damaged but due to the design it isn't that noticble, but the packaging could be improved.

  Didn't feel that the quality matched the impression given in thephoto eg the slate wasn't as thick as we imagined it would be. Would have been nice if the cheeseboards came in a box rather than just bubblewrapped, especially as these are the sorts of items that are likely to be ordered as gifts.

  I ordered 2 slate heart cheesboards as gifts. One of them was slightly imperfect in that a chard of slate had come away from the surface. I e-mailed to ask if there was something I could do to make the colour uniform and received a reply within a couple of days from The Slate Company that solved the problem. Both my firends loved the gift - they may have benefits from being in a box or something that would enable them to be stored easier without being damaged.
