Set of three hand carved rubber stamps in button designs by Skull and Cross Buns.

This set of hand carved clothes button stamps was inspired by many a trip to the local haberdashery shop with my mum when I was a little girl and being endlessly fascinated by hundreds upon hundreds of pots with pretty little buttons in. These stamps would make a sweet addition to your stamp collection! There are three designs in this set in three different sizes.

These stamps are not suitable for young children and do not come supplied with ink pads.

Pigment ink pads are available to purchase separately at £2 each for a small pad (2.5cm x 2.5cm) or £5 - £6 for a large pad (7.6cm x 4.7cm). I recommend these pigment ink pads to get the best results with the rubber I use.

These ink pads are raised so you don't necessarily need the same size pad for your stamp, simply turn the stamp rubber side up and dab the ink pad all over from above for an even coverage of ink.

Ink pads are fade resistant and non-toxic. Please note the White colour is not as opaque as the other colour ink pads (there are very few white ink pads manufactured which are, unfortunately) but this is one of the more opaque ones available.

Made from:

High quality carving rubber mounted on wooden blocks made within from the UK. All stamps in the Skull and Cross Buns range are painstakingly designed and delicately hand carved by me in my little South Devon studio by the sea.

The stamp may vary very slightly from the picture shown; such is the nature of it being hand carved. The stamp may have some ink staining; all stamps are tested carefully whilst being carved and sometimes used to create the index image on the wooden block. This is unavoidable to ensure the image is nice and clear but any staining will not affect your stamping.

To clean after use simply dab the stamps onto a damp kitchen towel or alcohol free baby wipe, please do not rub the stamps.

Important: If you want to incorporate these stamped images in your craft projects/items to sell on, you may do so but please refer carefully to my Angel Policy in my t's and c's for exact terms of use as I retain the design copyright, thank you.

Dimensions:

The stamped images measure approx. 2.2cm x 2.2cm (or 7/8” x 7/8”) for the largest down to 1.4cm x 1.4cm (or 9/16" x 9/16") for the smallest.

Wooden block can vary very slightly than the one shown, it will always be perfectly suitable for the stamp though.

I'm afraid the person I gave them to says they don't print very clearly.

    Skull and Cross Buns's response:

Thanks for your feedback and we’re sorry to hear that you’re not totally happy with your purchase. I suspect that the ink pads they are using with the stamp aren't the ones I recommend using as per the item listing. The rubber I use with my stamps work best with pigment ink pads rather than the dryer dye based pads as the ink from those tends to 'bead up' on the rubber and not give a good result. Pigment inks are far denser and work much better with the more solid/graphic style detail in my stamps. Also I recommend inking the stamps from above, with the stamp resting rubber side up on a table to ink. This gives a good even coverage of ink and doesn't 'flood' the image with ink and then press a bit more firmly than you would with a traditional cushion mounted stamp as the rubber is quite thick. I am positive with these tips your friend with get a lot better printing result going forward. Thank you for shopping with us and please contact us via your order enquiry if we can assist you further. Kind regards Emily
