  I am sorry that your chalkboard has not arrived with you. It was dispatched by first class post on 19 December and should have been with you within a couple of days. I can see that you contacted us on 17 January to let us know it had not arrived. We have contacted your local Post Office sorting office to see if it is waiting there for collection. If we can't track it down for you we will make and dispatch a duplicate for you by recorded post. I am so sorry but had we known earlier we could have sorted the problem out sooner for you.   As I assume you are the seller not the supplier? I know it was xmas but orders must be fullfilled. If I was told when ordering that there might be a delay my response would have been different, not pleased with Seahorse at all . But yourselves ok. hence the poor mark sorry

  I am so sorry that we could not make and deliver your chalkboard in time for Christmas as early December is our busiest time of the year and we make everything by hand, we only accept orders we can fulfil. We did ask if you would like to go ahead for delivery post Christmas or if you would like to cancel your order and you e-mailed back and said you would like us to go ahead. We made your chalkboard on 26 December and dispatched on the 27th by first class post. I am so sorry we couldn't have got it to you any earlier, we do usually make and dispatch within 3-5 days.   Very poor quality, I could have made one myself at the price! Very poor communication and had to wait an age for it to arrive - very disappointed but it was for a present and too late to replace.

  Thank you very much for your feedback and I am very sorry to hear that you were not at all happy with your purchase. We accepted your order on the 7th December and gave an estimated dispatch of 10 to 14 days - the chalkboard came out within this time, 12 days later and before the last Xmas posting date. We did apologise to you that we had set this longer than usual dispatch date when you placed the order, in reply to your later email to us us about this, and would have been happy to cancel the order and refund in full if this quoted delivery time was too long for you. We are confused by your comment on quality and assertion that you could make one of this quality for £17, but very sorry that this is how you feel about this purchase. We want all our customers to be delighted with their gift and if you had made these comments to us as soon as you received the item we would have offered to make a new one immediately, and sent it to you or the recipient of the gift by next day delivery. The boards are precisely cut from 6mm birch plywood, and coated with 5 coats of specialist paint with sanding between every coat. Your choice of lettering is then prepared in a specialist graphics programme, cut out on a special cutting machine, and applied to the board by hand, which is finished with natural string hanger, a chalk card, and ribbon. Other reaction to the actual product is overwhelmingly positive as other reviews testify. As you felt the chalkboard was such poor quality I am you will not have given it as a gift, so if you return it to our workshop on the West coast of Scotland we will immediately refund the purchase price, and the cost of your posting it back as well.   love the product but it was a gift and arrived unwrapped and with the invoice enclosed so the recipient knew what their gift was before opening it and its cost.

  Thank you for the feedback, which we replied to when you made these comments direct to us a couple of weeks ago. We've looked into what happened in the 'packing end' of the workshop and there was clearly a mistake in enclosing the ordinary dispatch note the system generates, rather that only your gift note, without the price showing. Again, our very sincere apologies for that mistake. The board was wrapped neatly in 2 sheets of coloured tissue and sent first class - we actually loose money on the cost of post and packing, and I am sorry do not offer what might be called actual 'gift wrap' paper. But it should have arrived neat and tidy and looking nice in its tissue wrap. I'm guessing the wrapping got rather battered and crumpled in transit - this has happened on a very few occasions and we are looking at ways to improve this. So sorry the service was not 100%.   Lovely product but disappointed overall at: A) wrong colour of ribbon was delivered with no apology or explanation B) packaging was atrocious. Very poor quality and gift message was embarrassing C) slow delivery

  Dear Ms Guthrie Thank you for the review which was posted at midnight last night. I am pleased you like all three of the chalk boards we made for you and very sorry that you felt the packaging was poor. We send all items first class and the boards are packed carefully in neatly folded tissue, then placed in protective envelopes, or in bubble wrap and brown paper, and in fact we we spend more on the 1st class post and packing than NoTHS charges our customers. It sounds like your package did not arrive as it left here, we do find very occasionally and particularly in the Christmas post, that items can be roughly handled by Royal Mail, with the contents of the parcel getting very shaken up. I am very sorry indeed that your items arrived 'atrociously' packed - as our other reviews testify, we work very hard to give the best service possible to our customers. In the week your items were made there had been a lost delivery of ribbon from our suppliers and rather than delay your order by a week and possible miss Christmas delivery we put some orders out with an alternative ribbon - but there should have been a hand written note apologising. I am very sorry you did not find one in your packets. If you had let us know how upset you were about the alternative ribbon colour, we would have sent you replacement strips of the blue stripped ribbon when it came in, and new chalk cards too, for all the boards, and all to separate addresses if you wished - and can still do this if you let us know. The gift message should have been carefully cut out from the NoTHS paperwork that comes to us with the order, and neatly applied to a manilla luggage tag - if it was not like that, again my sincere apologies. We did have extra staff on for Christmas in the 'packing' end of the workshop and there must have been a mistake which we did not spot. Thank you very much for your feedback Simon @ Seahorse

  The board and personalisation itself was fine but the ribbon on the board and gift tag was cut really poorly, unevenly and frayed, I had to re-cut and straighten it off myself. It was also insufficiently packaged in a price of tissue and very thin padded envelope so the chalk was crushed. I had to buy more. Disappointing for the price.

  I was relatively disappointed with this product - firstly I had to chase the order up as it was getting very close to Christmas (I'll put this down to them being very busy with orders), but once I finally received the 'chalkboard' looking closely I could tell that a mistake had been made with the letter stickers and there was an area above the text where some had been applied but then taken off, leaving a mark. The black paint could have been applied thicker too, or at least given an extra coating. If I had had more time I would have sent this back and asked for a refund, but I had no other option but to give it as the intended gift and hope they don't notice what I had!

We do provide ourselves on high standards and hand sand and paint the boards with at least five coats of paint. I would never knowingly send out a less than perfect item. Our chalkboards are hand made by us in our workshop, in Scotland, from high quality chunky birch plywood. We hand sand and spray the boards to get a good finish.   I used your website and bought this product as I was looking for a nice mother's day gift at relatively short notice. I chose this product as it was advertised in the 'Express gifts in time for mother's day' section of your website. AFTER purchasing the company then informed me that this product could not be delivered in time for mother's day at all. Needless to say, it should not have been advertised under this mis-leading heading.

  I ordered 2 boards in the first week of dec for 2 christmas presents and were due for delivery 17th dec. I had to chase for delivery as I had not heard anything but was then told with only a few days to Xmas that my order would not make it because of the gales in scotland. The supplier did refund me for one board and as a nice gesture they did in fact still send me the second board (With the other Board in january) However overall I thought the quality was poor, the chalk had broken when they were opened and the stencilling was wonky. I was rather disappointed by the fact that they took so long. I really appreciate there was nothing that could be done about the weather but it was oy when I contacted the company on my due dispatch date of 17th dec to see if they had been sent, that I was then told the orders would not get to me in time because of the gales. If my orders were to be dispatched on the 17th they should have been ready and packed anyway by the time the weather problems really hit so I think this supplier overstretched themselves.

  The chalkboard arrived very quickly after I sent the seller a message to say it was a gift needed by a certain date. I was very impressed by this. Although the product was good, the writing on it was a bit disappointing as it appeared to be just a cheap stencil.

  I have ordered from "Not on the High Street.com" before and previously was thrilled. Unfortunately I was really disappointed with the service as I ordered the personalised chalkboard in plently of time (Nov) as a gift for family for Christmas and was really disapointed that I didn't recieve it in time for Christmas. When the board arrived the chalk was broken in the post. It was a shame as the board itself is lovely, just unfortunate it was let down by the service.

  I understand the high winds in Scotland disrupted your work. What I do not understand is that even if the high winds did not occur my order would of still not of been ready, which makes me angry. it was due to arrive in 2 days and then I got the email about the high winds. It should have nearly of been completed 2 days before estimated delivery time!! It took 6 weeks for my order to get to me after placing my order. If you were more organised it would have been ready before the winds and could have been sent after the weather disruption, therefore not leaving me waiting for 6 weeks.

  Because I STILL have not received it!! I placed the order nearly 2 months ago, it was meant to be a Christmas present!! Absolutely awful company, I don't mean notonthehighstreet, I mean the company that provided the chalkboard

  I am so sorry for the original delays. As we explained we had lost electricity for a week back due to huge gales in early December and were behind with orders so offered you a complete refund. You very kindly said you were happy to wait but would prefer delivery after 1 January. We posted your board out on 5 January - there is no post in Scotland from 31 Dec until 4 January. We didn't hear that it hadn't arrived until Saturday 21 January. I am so sorry but it does occasionally happen that items are held at the local sorting office for collection if there was nobody in when they were delivered. Or very, very occasionally parcels do go astray. We made a new board for you over the weekend and posted out by recorded delivery on Monday 23 Jan. I really hate to have an unhappy customer and I realise this has been very disappointing. Please do let me know whether the chalkboard has now been received. With all good wishes Nicky at Seahorse

  I haven't seen the chalkboards as they were sent direct to the recipients but they seem pleased with them. They were delivered late because of problems caused by the gales in Scotland which was a pity but couldn't be helped. I was very pleased with the way I was kept informed of the situation and would use the company again.

  Nice product, but had total confusion as to whether I was going to to receive it or not as I was refunded £1.95 on 21 Dec and emailed that this was due to supplier being unable to fulfill order. So after checking with Not On the High St they concluded that yes unfortunately I wouldn't be receiving my order. I then did receive the order on the 29 Dec. In the mean time I had bought the person an alternative present so the chalk board is now redundant until next Xmas.

  Took over 1 month for delivery, communication was initially poor and request for ribbon not originally honoured. This has now been rectified however after christmas by which time the gifts have already been given.

  On the second chalkboard I ordered the phrase had not been done as i had requested. It had been poorly done with irregular spacings in between the letters. They provided a very slow and sadly disappointing service.

  The heart chalk board is lovely! Really nice to have the personal touch on it with the writing and cannot see any kind of lines as a previous review mentioned. It came with the tag chalk holder and a stick of chalk as shown on the photos. Nice and light to hang on the wall of our kitchen and looks great. Only comment would have been maybe we should have chosen the larger size so we could write even more on it!!!
