Print is Dead

I'm Elyssa Long, a graphic designer and illustrator from London, now living in Nottingham, and the creative behind Print is Dead.

Created during my MA in Graphic Design and Illustration at Nottingham Trent University, Print is Dead is a celebration of my love of mythology and gothic imagery, with a side of esoteric symbolism.

Most of my work involves pen and ink drawing and digital artwork, exploring the beauty of the macabre, heavily inspired by vanitas and memento mori and drawing on the rich history, mythology and folklore based around the cyclical nature of life and death.

Through Print is Dead my aim is to explore the timeless, beautiful and often dark worlds that exist within classic literature and mythology and focus on story-telling that benefits from the tactile and creative art of illustration and printmaking.
