Perilla

Perilla is home to a magnificent range of the finest quality alpaca socks - the ultimate treat for feet.

This site was born after looking for really luxurious bed socks for my daughter one Christmas and not being able to find anything suitable. A chance meeting with a local leading alpaca breeder steered me in the direction of the fabulous alpaca socks you will see here. The fibre is imported from Peru and greatly improves the wellbeing of the local community. This is then processed into yarn, dyed, knitted into socks, have the toes hand linked to make a comfortable flat seam and are then washed, finshed and packed. We use four factories for this process, all in the North of England.

As well as socks we have also sourced a range of the finest accessories and gifts, including beautiful scarves, wraps and superb quality leather goods. We have tried to keep to British designers as much as possible.

The cashmere has been sourced from an English company who use the highest grade of Himalayan cashmere available. They have taken very great care indeed to help the small Nepalese village who produce their exquisite goods. Indeed their charitable work there is of great pleasure and importance to us.
