These 'Granny Knits' needlepoint kits will enable you to create your own unique handcrafted heirloom - and piece of crafty chic. As although the kits may be produced the same, the individual work is your own, and no 2 yarns or stitches or hand strokes are alike, which is the beauty of creating your own piece.
The original and still the best selling kit created by Jacqui Pearce for Granny Knits, based on her camper van and love of the colourful outdoor life.
Each Craft Kit comes in a quality kraft card FSC approved gift box with label - which wraps up to a perfect gift. Box dimensions - 30 x 25 x 10cm
Canvas - 10hpi CREWEL, Finished size 50 x 30cm
Quality Zweigart canvas. We think that this is the best quality canvas you can buy. The HPI are the number of holes per inch on a straight line within the canvas - 10hpi is great for beginners or those wishing to try a new medium.
Wool We give you plenty of Appleton brothers 2 ply Crewel Wool or 4 ply Tapestry Wool (depending on the kit). Enough to stitch with the recommended stitch technique. Our wool is 100% British Virgin Wool - and it is the same wool as used by William Morris in his heritage designs.
Only one strand of wool is needed for tapestry designs and a double fold yarn for the crewel wool. All wool is supplied in neat twisted hanks, if there are two shades of a similar colour they will be individually labelled with the Appleton codes so that it's easy to organise your shade card. Needles Two quality John James tapestry needles - one to use and one to keep! You could always have 2 yarns on the go. We also give you a threader.
Instructions & Chart Full instructions are provided including detailed stitch charts and stitching diagrams, teaching you the basics of cross stitch techniques. The kit is a COUNTED CROSS STITCH chart and is not printed on the canvas - so each coloured square corresponds to the same colour cross stitch on the canvas. This provides for a more accurate finished stitched piece.
**PLEASE NOTE - The kit contains all you need to complete the cross stitch needlepoint piece and NOT the fabrics / frames or trims to finish your piece. But we do offer all of these items for sale on our site... Also whilst normally all the colours are as shown on the chart, sometimes we have to substitute colours due to supply which is out of our control.
