Silver jewellery individually designed and made by hand by Julie Bailey. Artisan craftsmanship and contemporary classic design.

Using embossed silver, copper and brass I imprint the metal with hand-cut salvaged papers to create texture and pattern to the surface of different metals. By cutting the metal and soldering together I then make softened geometric shapes and reversible shallow box forms for pendants, bracelets, earrings and rings. Combining metals and surfaces makes each piece distinctive and unique. The jewellery I design and make is both refined and timeless; it is tactile and wishes to be worn, touched and twizzled.

As both a jeweller and printmaker I am visually inspired by vintage wallpaper, botanical prints, garden design and these constantly inform my work. I work directly with the materials, using traditional skills to experiment and explore the paper surfaces and cut templates to imprint the metal; one strong, the other delicate, and always beautiful.
