olive archer handmade handbags and accessories are the result of a love of making things and a passion for handbags and vintage fashion. From a leather shoulder bag to a small evening clutch bag, they are perfect for women who want quirky vintage style and who appreciate the time and care that go into creating each item.
All of the handbags and accessories are designed and handmade in the south of France using leather and fine and vintage fabrics and fittings. I love to add extra detail and stitched surface decoration to my bags and each one is lined, either with Liberty print fabric or luxurious raw silk.
On moving to France a few years ago I left behind my previous teaching career and now spend nearly all of my time in the atelier at the bottom of my garden where I make every item. I'm inspired by early twentieth century fashion and art as well as the vintage buttons that I collect and I enjoy designing new bag shapes to complement buttons and beads that I find.
