Olive&Moss was established in the summer of 2007 by Textile Designer Nina Govan.
Nina’s vision for the company grew from her fascination with designing a bright and beaming high quality range which would encompass her unique animal characters.
Best selling Perry the Panda was the very first to join the animal friends: his nonchalant face, rounded tummy and penchant for Bamboo were an immediate success. Then along came the oh so mischievous Michael the Monkey, the beautiful Betty the Bunny and the wisest of them all Otto the Owl... These very special friends with their unique names, quirks and identities had an instant appeal both at home and internationally. Customers warmed to the imagination, firm sense of narrative, innocence and sense of fun that the brand came to represent. It was clear to see that the family of friends was set to grow and so they did…
Now five years later, Nina coupled with a whole host of animal friends, family and the growing team at Olive&Moss continues to achieve resounding success. The collection has grown to include many items such as cosy Hooded Sweatshirts, delightful Dresses, super snug Snowsuits, amongst many more fabulous pieces … Each garment is lovingly developed in the brightest of palettes, featuring unique prints, characters, stripes or florals, appliqués, trims, buttons and badges that are integral to the Olive&Moss brand.
In 2012 Olive&Moss was shortlisted by Junior Magazine in their annual Design Awards alongside Stella McCartney, Paul Smith and Rachel Riley. Woo hoo!
July 2013 is set to be an enormously exciting time for the brand as they see the launch of their four early concept board books in collaboration with the world famous publishing house Egmont; the UK's biggest children's publisher. Michael the Monkey, Collette the Cow, Louis the Lion and Margot&Mo will come to life with in their very own illustrated story book. Each Olive&Moss board book will introduce early learning concepts - Colours, Noises, Numbers and Shapes. The books will include bright colours, simple texts, a padded front cover with smartly embossed illustrations, repeat patterns and gloss spot designs throughout.
