Nicky Snow has been an award-winning commercial illustrator and lecturer in the Bath/Bristol area for the last 17 years, locally famed by those in the music and arty circles and a bit of a well-kept secret.
Surfing a surge of public interest in all things vintage, Nicky’s work stands out as unique – she is an habitual recycler, trawling Brighton and London vintage magazine shops, junk shops and auctions to fuel collaged creations that live in a world of 40s and 50s ‘feel good’, with a twist of today about them. There is an off-the-wall, sometimes unfathomable poetry that you will not find elsewhere.
With a fresh new brand in the making and a strapline 'the new vintage', 2010 is the year that Nicky has started very successfully applying her unique images to everyday objects - wall planners, coasters, pencil tins - but she still stays true to her 'crafty' roots by also offering the new designs as original artwork and limited edition prints.
This new way of working suits Nicky's seasonally changing colours, moods and messages and, because of the small-ish runs of product, will provide the lucky owners with some seriously collectible keepsakes to cherish for the future!
In Nicky Snow’s debut year for ‘objects’, she has already had product shortlisted for Gift of The Year 2010 and is featured in the Marie Claire Christmas Gift Guide, Winter 2010. This is therefore a great time to snap up some very fresh Nicky Snow early pieces.
