A really different easter gift for kids - four fun experiments to learn about spring. There's chocolate too but this is no everyday easter egg!
The set includes a test tube filled with chocolate eggs along with other goodies for four spring experiments. The card front has a place for the child to personalise it with their own name (e.g., Molly's spring experiments).
The four experiments:
1 - Spot all the signs of spring and tick them off as you go. The inside of the card shows colourful silhouettes of all sorts of things in a spring scene and the back has a checklist. Each item wins points according to how difficult it is to find - great if there is a group of you playing.
2 - Fill your test tube with spring specimens like flowers and feathers. If you take the tube with you on your spring hunt then you can collect these things as you explain about all things spring, like flowers blooming and birds making nests.
3 - Use water and food colouring to change a white flower overnight. White Carnations work best and any food colouring. This is a great experiment to teach the kids that flowers need water - they can also learn about colour mixing by using red and yellow to make orange for example. A small pipette in included for adding the colours (food colouring not included).
4 - Grow a sweet pea plant! The kit includes a few sweet peas and some cotton wool. Simply wet the wool and put it into the tube with the pea - then make sure it doesn't dry up by adding water with the pipette. Through the clear test tube you can watch the pea sprout roots and slowly grow into a shoot before you eventually plant it in the garden. Sweet pea plants have lots of colourful flowers.
The set comes together in a yellow candy bag and includes:
- Test tube (tough clear plastic) filled with 14 chocolate mini eggs
- Spring activity card
- Plastic pipette
- Small bag with cotton wool and three sweet peas (for experiment 4)
