A giant place mat, an incredibly thoughtful and durable present that will be used every day.
The cute design will capture their imagination. And the placemat is also incredibly practical, the rigidity of the placemat means that it can be picked up and carried to the bin for wiping (no dishwashers please!) and the size of it means that all cutlery and cups can be kept safely on it.
The surface is melamine which is an extremely durable product, able to withstand temperatures of up to 140 degrees and with very little care the placemat will give you many years of service. It is backed with cork which is both gentle to the table and provides a non-slip benefit.
